Job Summary:

The Data Entry Specialist at Blue Cross Blue Shield is responsible for accurately entering and updating healthcare-related data in company databases. This role involves processing and maintaining patient records, insurance claims, billing information, and other critical healthcare data. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to ensure data accuracy in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately input and update patient, insurance, and billing information into the company’s data management systems.
Review and verify incoming data for accuracy and completeness.
Identify and correct data discrepancies by cross-referencing information from various sources.
Maintain data integrity by following established protocols and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve data-related issues and ensure efficient workflow.
Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information at all times.
Perform routine audits of data entry and provide feedback on areas for improvement.
Assist with generating reports and performing other administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years of data entry experience, preferably in a healthcare or insurance setting.
Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare data systems (preferred).
Skills:
Proficient in data entry software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and data privacy standards (preferred).
